Stephanie Woolridge Obituary

Remembering Stephanie

Stephanie Yvonne Woolridge was born March 22, 1937,in Hackensack New Jersey and was the only child of John Stewart and Rosamond McAlpin. She grew up in Montclair, New Jersey.
She has six children: Diane, Donna, Karen, Jeffrey, John and Jennifer.

She is a graduate of Montclair High School and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of NJ for over 35 years. During her tenure at the hospital, she worked in many areas, but her most cherished position was that of a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. There she was able to help many clients and patients overcome the addictions and struggles of substance abuse. Additionally, she enjoyed the continuing educational opportunities this position provided. In 1995, she retired from UMDNJ in 1995 but her continued need to be of service provided her another opportunity at the Lennard Clinic in Newark, New Jersey where she worked as medication dispenser for many years. Stephanie enjoyed traveling (international travels and road trips alike), thrift shopping, and staying on top of world, national, and local news.
She leaves behind her grandchildren: Kendall, Brittney, Tori, Christopher, Julia, Lindsay (pre-deceased), Brandon, and great-grandchildren: Bryson, Brayden, Bellamy, Amari and Avery. As well as a host of other family and friends.
She transitioned at home on Sunday, August 21, 2022.
