Shylaine Louissaint, a loving mother, sister and aunt passed on August 23, 2022 at 52, surrounded by family. She was born May 2, 1970 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and raised in Montclair, New Jersey. While she was the youngest of ten, Shylaine exuded such grace and noble leadership, her position as the ‘little sister’ would come as a surprise to many. She attended Montclair High School and proudly graduated in the class of 1988. Shylaine Louissaint went on to study Medical and Health Sciences at Rutgers State University. She began her career in the hospital as a Nurses Assistant before moving on to Counseling and Clinical Psychotherapy. Shylaine Louissaint was also an intelligent and innovative entrepreneur. Her knowledge of business and artisanship served her well and contributed to her success as a CEO of her own merchandise, hair and skin care line. Shylaine Louissaint was a vital counselor to all. She was remarkably passionate, persevering, trustworthy and would stand up for her loved ones when they needed her most. She was the leading individual friends and family confided in at all times and a force to be reckoned with. Shylaine had a deep appreciation for rhythm and sound and truly loved dancing to music. She admired Sade, Alan Cavé and 90’s music like Sonique. Shylaine was known to blast her stereo every Saturday morning, never missing a chance to belt out her favorite songs. Shylaine Louissaint was soulful, compassionate and possessed genuine love and care for
everyone she encountered. She will never be forgotten as a mother, as a sister, as an aunt and a companion.
She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Emmanuella S. Mahmood to pass on her legacy as well as her siblings, her nieces and nephews and her
friends. Shylaine Louissaint will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
