Seth Bynum Jr.

Seth Bynum Jr. was born on August 28th, 1931 in Wilson, North Carolina to Flossie and Seth Bynum Sr.
He attended Grady Elementary School and Charles H. Darden High School and after completing high school, Seth enlisted in the United States Army.

After being in the military, Seth moved to New Jersey where he met and, in 1958, married Irene Edwards. Over the course of their marriage, they had three boys, Randy, Robert, and Rory Bynum. Seth Jr. and Irene Bynum were married for 39 years until Irene was called home in 1997.

Seth spent his working years as a warehouseman at various wholesale food distributing companies in northern New Jersey until his eventual retirement from Sysco in the late 1990’s.

Seth, or “Kid”, as many of his family members called him, was considered one of the best at shooting pool. And in the later years of his life, on any given day, you could find him smoking a Nat Sherman cigar while watching Old Westerns and debating the politics of the day or making the drive down to Atlantic City to play the slots and take the city for all it had.

Seth was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Bynum, his parents, Flossie and Seth Sr. Bynum, his sisters, Flonnie May Bynum and Oza Lee Bynum, his brothers, Otto Bynum, Alonzo Bynum Sr., Milton Bynum, and S.B. (Bobby) Bynum, and his son, Randy Bynum.

He is survived by his sons, Bobby and Rory Bynum, his nieces and nephews, Carolyn Bynum, Juanita Bynum, Larry Bynum, Alonzo Bynum Jr., Harold Bynum, and Otto Bynum Jr. He is also survived by his grandson Seth L. Bynum.
