Life Reflections on The Life of Rudolph Chambers
Rudolph J Chambers, eighth child of James and Lillian Chambers, was born in James Hill in Clarendon, Jamaica on June 6, 1945. As a young man, he attended James Hill Primary School. Then, following graduation, he moved to Kingston to expand his career opportunities and was later employed by the Kingston Water Commission.
In 1974, Rudolph migrated to the US where he joined family in New Jersey. During this time, Rudy (as he was affectionately known by family and friends) married and had a family, sons Le-Shaun and Andre, with his wife, Vern.
Being highly career driven, Rudy followed his professional aspirations and applied to Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, NJ. He studied Food Services Management, completed his training and became a certified manager. With a personal and professional commitment to service, he was immediately hired by Sodexo, one of the leading companies in his field. This marked the beginning of a 30 year career with the company, where Rudy held successful management positions within two major medical institutions: Overlook Hospital in Summit and St. Barnabas in Livingston, NJ.
During his years of service, he received numerous accolades, awards and certificates as a testament to his outstanding leadership, management skills and the mutual love and admiration he shared with staff and colleagues.
Rudolph was a marvelous human being. His life can be summarized as one that exemplified JOY, LOVE and PEACE.
On the evening of January 14th, 2023, our beloved Rudy closed his eyes and slipped away into eternal peace. Rudolph is predeceased by his parents, James and Lillian; and brothers Oswald, Cecil, and Wesley Chambers. He leaves to cherish his memory, sons Le-Shaun and Andre; brothers Lascelles, Robert (Bob), and Thomas (Sonny); and sisters, Wyneth (Rose), Averil, Emma, and Ida; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
