In Loving Memory of Michael Stuart Wilson

 

Michael Stuart Wilson was born August 30, 1957 in Orange, NJ to Mary Stuart Wilson and William Wilson (Pony). Sadly, Michael passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024. When the family moved to Montclair, NJ, Michael attended Hillside School, and graduated from Montclair High School in 1975 where he played Baskelball, and began to take an early interest in Golf and other sports.
After highschool, he attended Morgan State University in Baltimore as a Pre-Med Major. However, later he prefered Mathematics which he taught at Central High School in Newark, NJ, and at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Newark until his retirement. In fact, Michael coached Newark High School students in the game of Golf at the Weequaic Park Golf Course. He also loved to play Chess and taught many of his students how to play. During his tenure, he worked with the Newark Public Schools Leadership Team and won the “Best Practices Award for Innovative Practices,” in Mathematics that was presented at the Fifth Annual Colloquium June 2, 2001


He married Eileen De Freece on February 18, 2005 at the Little Church of the West, in Las Vegas, NV surrounded by family and friends. In August 2007, Michael graduated with Honors from Saint Peters College, in Jersey City, NJ with a Master of Arts in Education degree. Michael always loved Golf and became an excellent golfer as noted by the many trophies that he has won, including the Sundowner’s 2014 Golf Championship Trophy, and the Kenny Macklin Golf Outing Trophy in 2016, as well as other awards. He also loved to Golf on the courses at Martha’s Vinyard with his many friends during the summer.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Eileen De Freece-Wilson, his daughter, Kelly Verona Clark, brother William Douglas Wilson Sr. (Billy), sister Victoria Lynn Wilson (Vicki). He is also survived by his nephews William Douglas Wilson, Jr., Nathaniel Auguste Wilson, and cousins Janine, Valerie and Kimberly, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
