Marie Josée Dorval was called from this life to her heavenly home on January 11th, 2022. She was born to the late Guelord G. Romulus and Yclovia Joseph on December 11, 1961 in Verrette, Haiti.
Marie Josée received her education in Verrette and Port-au-prince, Haiti. She was married to Mr. Jean Dorval on March 31st, 1990. From the union they have a daughter, Samira Dorval. Marie Josee worked as a secretary and later on she started her own business as a trader with courage and dignity. She migrated to the United States in 2016 to join her husband and daughter. She lived in East Orange, New Jersey with her family. Marie Josée was a trustworthy person and loved by all who knew her. She always was helping those who are in needs. Her nieces, nephews, and all the young who used to come to her house, called her “Tatie.” She was everybody’s mom. She was loving and nurturing, young people like to be around her.
Marie Josée is survived by her husband, Jean Dorval; her daughter, Samira Dorval; her son in law, Styvelt Fièvre and her grandson, Sebastien Kae Fièvre.

Marie Josée was very active participant in women ministry at Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene and attended the church. A few weeks before her passing, she invited Rev. Dumerzier Charles to her house and made public profession of faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and joined Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene. We, at Good Shepherd Church, will miss Marie Josée deeply. May God grant Marie Josée eternal peace as she is waiting for the glorious day of the resurrection.
