Madis Gilstrap Norvell, 93, of Douglasville, GA, formerly of Montclair and East Orange NJ, peacefully passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 after a long illness.
Visitation will be Friday, October 19, 2018, 10am to 11am, with Mass following immediately after beginning 11am at St. Peter Claver Church, 56 Elmwood Ave, Montclair, NJ.
She worked as a proof reader for Burrell Newspaper clippings in Livingston, office manager for Dr. Ziyaaudhin, and also worked as a computer analyst for Sandoz Pharmaceutical Company where she worked for many years before retiring from there.
She was a devoted Catholic and active member where she served as CCD teacher for several years at St Peter Claver Church in Montclair. She also served as a Eucharist Minister at Holy Spirit Church in Orange, NJ, Our Lady Help of Christians, in East Orange and St Peter Claver Church before moving to Douglasville, GA, to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
She is pre-deceased by her first husband Samuel Gilstrap, second husband Williams Norvell, Sr. and her son David X. Gilstrap. She leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters; Brenda Mosby (Curtis), Linda Dully (Claude), and Karen Woodfaulk, 5 grandchildren; DeWayne and Derek Strong, Courtney Woodfaulk, Danielle Crystal Dully, 2 great grandchildren; Devasha Rascon and Jennah Strong, very dear friend; Mary Cato, and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be deeply missed by all.
