June Howard

            Montclair native, June Howard, affectionately known as Mama June spent her final hours on Thursday May 20th surrounded by the love of her children and siblings. 

She was born June 18, 1952, the 3rd of 6 children born to Fiore (Fred Ferraro) and Barbara Dodd. 

June attended school in the Montclair school district and graduated from Montclair Highschool. In her teenage years she enjoyed playing softball and found her passion for sewing. Within those years she met her truest love Harold Howard Jr, they later got married on July 20 1970 and had 4 children from this union.

She retired from Horizon Blue Cross in January 2019 where she worked for over 40 years. Work didn’t stop there for her, after her retirement she dove into her favorite job title “Mama June”, a name given to her by her oldest grandchildren Devon and Jahnaya where they grew up in the house hearing her kids call her mom and her husband call her June.

Her family was her world, nothing in this world was more important to her. She was a safe place, a wonderful big sister and friend, a loving wife, an amazing mother and an even better grandmother. She made sure she got things done by any means necessary. 

June was a very fashionable woman and she made sure that her children looked just as good as she did even if that meant she had to sew every outfit to every event. She made prom dresses, modeling outfits and even the famous gold pants that she sent her two eldest girls to Junior prom in. 

We love her very much and will miss her dearly. Wishing her a peaceful journey on her way to her love.

June Howard leaves to cherish her memory; Her four children Regina Davis, Tina Howard, Leah Paul and Leon Howard; Her two sons in law Dennis Davis and Greg Paul; Daughter in law Jasmine Howard; Two brothers Charles and James Ferrero; One Sister Lois Ferrero; Niece Juanita; Nephew Arthur O’Neil; 14 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
