Jason Fleming Obituary

Jason Scott Fleming was the oldest of 3 children born to Wendy E. Fleming and the late Victor E. Fleming on June 4, 1977.

Jason was called home to be with the Lord on April 11, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Muhlenberg Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Jason was born and raised in Montclair, NJ. He was educated in Montclair Public Schools. During his youth, he was an active Boy Scout, an experience that helped shape his character and values. In the 9th grade, Jason achieved the prestigious title of Eagle Scout, which is the highest level of achievement within the Boy Scouts, highlighting his dedication to leadership and service, even at a young age.

Jason attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ for his undergraduate degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in Biological Sciences. There he met his wife, Talya Kianti Fleming and the two married in May of 2005. Jason went on to complete his graduate degree also at Rutgers University, obtaining a doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology.

Jason worked at several locations including the New Jersey Training School in Jamesburg, NJ with the Juvenile Justice Commission and Rutgers University. Jason also spent time performing family/child evaluations and court testimony while working in private practice at Associates in Psychological Services in Somerville, NJ. He ended his career working as the Director of Mental Health Services for Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, NJ.

A devoted psychologist, Jason dedicated his life to helping others, offering compassion, guidance, and understanding to all who knew him.

Outside of his work, Jason had a deep love for sports and was a devoted fan of the New York Jets football team, so much that he could be heard passionately cheering (or yelling) at the television during games. He was an active and involved father in the lives of his sons, cheering them on from the stands during basketball games and attending school activities.

Jason leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Talya Kianti Fleming, and his two sons, Jalen Pierce Fleming and Titan James Fleming; his mother, Wendy Elaine Fleming; his brother Richard Aaron Fleming; his sister, Stephanie Yvonne Fleming-Davis and her husband (Arthur Lee Davis Jr.); his nieces Solangé Lubin, Naomi Fleming, Aria Williams; his nephews Kai Davis, Miles Williams, Jordan Davis, Evan Williams along with a host of family and friends.
