Born to the late Walter Marshall and Mattie Miles in Newark, NJ on February 9, 1936. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur Marshalland his 1st wife Marilyn Scott of Cumberland County, VA.
James Marshall attended Lincoln School in East Orange and went on to East Orange High School where he graduated in 1956. While in High School he received an award for music and played the Clarinet in the "HS Band". He was athletically inclined and was on the "Track Squad" and set a track record of 42-inch Hurdles in 8.1 second!
In 1954 he received and Honorable Discharged from the Armed Forces of the US.
He continued to excel and earned a Degree in Nursing at the City College of NY in The Bronx and a Psychology Degree from The William Patterson College in Wayne, NJ where he is now an "Alumni" Upon graduation having several job opportunities he accepted a full time position as an RN with the VA Hospital in East Orange where he later than retired after 25 yrs of service.
As a hobby he enjoyed writing music, playing the keyboard and Ancestry DNA
