Hester Mabel (Smith) Robinson

Hester Mabel Robinson peacefully transitioned on September 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 26, 1938, in Montclair, NJ to William and Dorothy Smith, she lived a life filled with family and love. Hester was a devoted wife and mother.

She attended Montclair High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart, William Robinson. Their union was blessed with five sons. Hester was a homemaker who found immense joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her kindness touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Hester was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Robinson, her siblings Juanita, Kenneth, Roger, Albert, Joseph, Herbert, and Diane. She was also predeceased by her loving son, Christopher and great grandchildren Ka’yir Robinson and Kelis Langford.

She is survived by her twin sister, Hettie, and brother Peter. She is also survived by her loving and caring sons Wayne, Gary, and Mark, and has another son Abdul Bilal. She is survived by loving daughters in law, Renee Robinson, Laurie Robinson, Jessie Adams, and Tracey Robinson.

She is also survived by grandchildren Candice Robinson, Chantel Langford (Kevin Langford), Shariff Robinson (Timolen Lyle), Bilal Robinson (Omnya Robinson), Kadeem Robinson, Ashley Carswell (Chris Carswell), Wali Bilal, Carmen Bilal Walker (Reginald Walker), Cenithia Bilal, Malcolm Toledo and Carter Robinson.

She will also be missed by great grandchildren Nasier, Nieem, Iyanna, Keion, Quaron, Nolen, Kayla, Kaliyah, Alan, Layla, Yakir, Kamora, Amiyah, Nala, Niya, Aria, Shariff Jr., Malik, Amorah, Amir, Alura and Zayd as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
