On Wednesday, January 1, 2020, Harold William Brown departed peacefully from this life to be with the Lord. He was born on July 24, 1932 to the late Frank and Corine Brown.
Harold attended Granard High School in Gaffney, South Carolina. From there he was a sales clerk at Food Fair Store in Baltimore, MD until he was enlisted in the Army of the United States in 1953 and served until 1961. While in the Army, Harold received several medals (Good conduct medal, army occupation medal and national defense service medal).
On July 22, 1955, he married the love of his life, Ann Littlejohn. From this union two sons were born, Harold, Jr. and Gary.
Harold was an exemplary employee for NJ Turnpike as a toll collector until he retired in 1998. Harold never missed an opportunity to give a big smile and greeting to all who came to exit 15E.
After all Harold was a true gentleman to his heart. He enjoyed watching the trains, going to the casino and sitting in his favorite chair, waiting for “Night to Fall”.
Harold leaves loving and lasting memories to his sons, Harold, Jr. (Cathy) and Gary (Leslie), 5 grandchildren, Taj, Nadir, Nadirah, Travis, and Tyshawn, 1 great-grandson, TJ and 1 great-granddaughter “on the way”, 2 sister-in-laws, Dorothy Sweatte and Wilma Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
