Gladys T Mills

Gladys Todd Mills of Clifton, New Jersey died on June 7, 2021. She was 93 years old. She was a longtime resident of Clifton, New Jersey.

Gladys T. Mills, was born on February 24,1928 in Durant, Mississippi, to the late Doctor E. Todd and Olevia Fisher Todd.  She was the youngest of five children.  Her father, mother, and all of her siblings preceded her in death.

On September 24, 1967, Gladys was united in holy matrimony to the late Richard Mills.  Together they moved into to New Jersey in February, 1969.  There they shared many happy times with family and friends.

On February 26, 1994, Gladys retired from the New York City Board of Education; after thirty four years of service.  She did some traveling, but her favorite pastimes were reading, and completing The New York Times crossword puzzles, as well as gardening.

After moving to New Jersey, she decided to move her membership to St. Paul Baptist Church.  She joined the Noon Day Bible Ministry, and the Little Lads Ministry.  She also assisted in the church office when needed.  She served as a faithful member until her death. 

Gladys will forever be remembered for her love of God and family, her hats, her grace, and her outgoing personality. 

To cherish her memory she is survived by: three nieces Kathryn Montgomery Smith  of Bating Hollow, NY, Sandra Montgomery of Greensboro, NC, Patricia A. Dade-Williams (Eric) of Apopka, FL. One nephew Samuel M. Dade(Annette) of Apopka, FL,; three great nieces Jemea Smith Dorsey(Dereke) of Atlanta, GA., Aishah Smith of Brooklyn, NY, and Jennifer Medley (Stephen) of Greensboro, NC. and host of other family and close friends.
