George T. Walker, 96, died in Montclair on Aug 23. He was born June 27, 1922, in Washington DC. Winner of a Pulitzer Prize in Music, he was a composer, pianist, and educator. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and composer of more than 90 published works, his music was played by every major orchestra in the country. He leaves behind two sons, Gregory Walker of Louisville, CO, and Ian Walker of Oakland, CA. Viewing Sept 6 at Martin’s Home for Service, 48 Elm St, Montclair, from 4-7pm.
