Flemming Dunn, Jr., 84 of Jersey City, formally of Montclair passed away on April 11, 2025.
He was born on June 5, 1940 in Halifax County, Virginia to Anna Louise Lee and Flemming Dunn.
He graduated from Mary McCloud Bethune High School in Halifax, VA. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served for two years. After his honorable discharge, Flemming moved to New Jersey where he worked as an Electrical Technician for Western Electric until his retirement. Later he went into business for himself as a contractor.
In September 1961, Flemming married Naomi Pringle of Montclair. Together they had two children: Rhonda Bertinia and Eric Flemming. After fifteen years of marriage, they divorced.
He later met Helen Cherry and from this union two children were born: Javon Khalali and Justin Emmanuel.
Flemming enjoyed bowling, skiing, playing the guitar and working with his hands.
Flemming is survived by his life partner Helen Cherry, his daughter Rhonda Dunn-Butler, sons Javon Dunn (Mona Pressley), and Justin Dunn, three grandchildren Javon, Jr., Sade and Jahené, sister Shirley Dunn, brother James Dunn (Catherine), nieces, nephews, and friends.
Flemming was preceded in death by his parents Anna Louise Lee Dunn and Flemming Dunn, son Eric Flemming Dunn, brothers John and Rufus Dunn, sisters Mary Malone, Anna Dunn and SeDorthy Hand.
