Emmanuel Rozier Obituary

Emmanuel Rozier was born on June 8, 1956, in Belladere, Haiti to the union of his Mother Miracia and his late Father Elifete. Affectionally known as “Mannie”, he passed away in the town of Hackensack where he was receiving care due to illnesses and complications.

Mannie was the first of his siblings to transition to the afterlife and preceded only by his dad.

Mannie was an adored father to his daughter Abigail. He was a beloved son to his mom Miracia. He was a dear brother to his siblings, Evens, Elvire (Ellie), Eric, Michele, and Gary. He was a
supportive uncle to his nieces and nephews, Saheed, Sophia, Ajahni, Debbie, Ashley, Kalisse, Frederic, Roderic, Kassie, and Eric. He was a warm presence to a long list of cousins and
extended family members. Lastly, he was a trusted friend to many.

We are deeply heartbroken that he left us way too soon.

Mannie graduated from Montclair High School (Class of 1974). Beyond which, he undertook several aspirational initiatives and educational pursuits ranging from banking, healthcare, and landed in Environmental Services in Morris County where he worked for many years. Mannie will be remembered for the generosity of his time and spirit to be there for anyone, often at a moment’s notice. He cherished the company of family and friends with equal warmth when gathering for lighthearted conversation and laughter, just as much as the quiet, serious moments where he offered support and understanding. An avid reader and a passionate sports fan, Mannie enjoyed everything from football, basketball, soccer, and tennis, to combat sports like boxing. His love of music was just as broad, spanning genres from the rhythms of reggae, jazz, blues, soft rock, classical, funk, and hip hop.

Mannie lived a life defined by the kind of generosity that asks for nothing in return; he was well-liked largely because he connected so naturally with others. We are grateful for the many years and memories he afforded us and we take comfort knowing that heaven welcomed him with joy, just as he welcomed all of us throughout his life.

Rest in peace, Father, son, brother, uncle, and friend; we love you dearly and we will miss you always.
