Edward Perrin Jr. Obituary

Remembering Edward

Edward Perrin, Jr.,  was born on December 9, 1947, in Orange, NJ and will be remembered as a beloved, devoted father, husband, brother, veteran and 33rd° mason. Edward was the eldest son of seven to the late Edward Perrin, Sr, and Alfreda Perrin. From an early age, Edward displayed an unwavering commitment to his family and country. After graduating from Montclair High School, he enlisted in the United States Army.

Upon returning from his military service, Edward returned to Montclair and joined the United States Postal Service. Additionally, he pursued membership in the Freemasonry fraternity with the Eureka Lodge 52, and held roles as 32nd degree Mason of Sardonias Consistory no.41 then eventually becoming a Grand Inspector General of the 33rd and last degree of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, PHA, for the Orient of New Jersey.

In the 1980s, Edward met and later married Ellen Marguerite Bell, whom he met at Union Baptist Church Choir rehearsal. Out of this loving union, they welcomed two beautiful daughters, Victoria Michelle and Janet Marguerite. Edward loved watching his children grow and develop their careers and expand their lives. His children consider themselves blessed to have had such a source of support. Although he was predeceased by Ellen in 2016, Edward continued to be a devoted and loving husband, frequently speaking of their fond memories together. Edward enjoyed a quiet retirement in the company of family, friends, and his fraternity of Brothers who would stop in for advice and catch up on the day. He frequently hosted in his living room at a moment's notice.

Along with his daughters, Edward is survived by his siblings Arthur Perrin (Arnetta), Lorraine P. Johnson (Wayne), Katherine Thatcher (Thomas), Kenneth Perrin, and Gordon Perrin. Edward also leaves behind his two grand-pups, Cali (adopted in 2018) and Prince, whom Janet brought home against Edward's best wishes in 2009. At his feet at the head of the dinner table was their favorite place. Edward passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023, in Montclair, NJ. He will be dearly missed. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire all those whose lives he touched.
