Ernie Elliot Bethel was born in Andros, Bahamas on February 23, 1942. From his youth, he demonstrated unique talent. When electricity was scarcely available, he engineered the first doorbell for the family home.
He began his formal education in the Bahamas and later migrated to the United States to continue a teaching career in Electronics. In those early years, he lived in the home of his oldest brother George and wife Sylvia. George was a mentor and spiritual leader to Earnie. In 1972 after fully surrendering to the Lordship of Christ, Earnie was baptized at Bethel Gospel Chapel.
In 1975, Earnie married Lennie Smith and the following year their son Earl was born. After a teaching career, Earnie entered the federal government’s workforce and retired in 2017. He has served faithfully at Bethel Gospel Chapel and was especially gifted in the area of finance. He was meticulous in detail and served in this capacity until his passing.
Earnie Elliot Bethel was a man of quiet strength and insurmountable wisdom, he is resting in the presence of his Lord.
