Duchaun Butler (Loon) was born in Brooklyn, NY to Simone Butler and William Alston on May 31 st , 1978. He moved on to the next chapter of his life on April 15, 2026, in Brooklyn, NY.
He grew up in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Montclair, NJ in his mid-teens, but his heart never strayed far from his Brooklyn roots. He was the mayor of the neighborhood, known and loved by everyone.
From a very early age he was on the move, living his life at the speed of light, as if he knew that life was going to throw him a curve and he needed to squeeze all the juice out of it that he could. He worked in construction partly because he loved it and partly because he could not bear to be indoors for eight hours. When illness stepped in and tried to slow him down, his determination and perseverance kept him going and he continued to live the remainder of his life by his own rules.
He was preceded in Death by his Grandmother, Janie (JJ) Aiken; his Grandfather Johnnie Butler; his Father William Alston.
Duchaun is Survived by: his daughter, Kanesha Jefferson; his mom, Simone Butler; his brother Rasyne Butler; his sister, Ieyasha Butler; his uncle and aunt, Darhyl and Gwendelon Butler; his uncle, Wendall Butler; his uncle, Ronald Butler; his uncle Neal Butler; his uncle Eric Butler; his sister-in-law, Idalisa Boxill; his nieces, Izabella and Olivia Butler along with two Stepbrothers, one Stepsister and multiple cousins and extended family members.
