Donald C Philpott, 86, of Cedar Grove, formerly of Montclair, passed away October 3, 2019.
Mr. Philpott was a retired Capt. from the Montclair Fire Dept., after 35 years of service.
He was a community activist, leader, AAU All American in Track and Field mile run, and sports enthusiast. He was predeceased by his siblings; John C, Esten J Philpott, and Myrtle Philpott Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife of 31 years, Laverne H Vaughn Philpott, 2 children; DonaldW., (Michael Filan), Lynda McLemore, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grand children, and a host of other relatives and friends.
