Deborah Blue Obituary

On Monday, November 3, 2025, Deborah Ann Blue passed away at the age of 73 in East Orange, NJ.


Deborah was born in Jersey City N.J.  At an early age Deborah studied Piano and Voice, under tutelage of her Dad, William Sr. Deborah’s Vocal Classification was that of Mezzo- Soprano. She also sang at her grandfather’s Rev. Lester Bell, Church in Jersey City.


Deborah began her early Education in Bayonne, NJ until the family relocated to East Orange where she attended East Orange High School. During High School she was a member of the Glee Club, Vocal Ensemble and studied Viola. She graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Music with a concentration of performance in Voice and Piano. In 1999, she pursued her Master's from Jersey City State University in Music. Her beautiful voice took her to high-level musical productions in the New York metropolitan area, including off Broadway.


Deborah is member of Alpha Kappe Alpha Sorority(AKA) and member of the Newark School of the Arts.


Deborah was a Retired Teacher of the Newark Public School System. She taught at the Elementary, Junior High School, and High School Levels. At the High School Level, she specialized in the Education of children diagnosed with Autism. Deborah was a member of the Vestry and Choir at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. During Deborah’s career, she was Director of Music and Soloist. Inspiration and mentor to both young and adult musicians.


Deborah was the eldest sister. was preceded in death by her father, William T Sr. Mother Mamie U and her Brother Carleton K.


She is survived by her five siblings William T. Jr, Barry J, Gina E, Judson V, Melody, nieces Simon Robinson, Ashley Barthelemy, Cierra Blue, and Nephew Glennwood Robinson III Aunts Irene Bell, and Esther Bell.
