Clyde Daniel Butler Sr., age 89, received his Heavenly wings on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025.
Born September 28th, 1935 to Mabel Holloway- Butler and Ernest Butler, he was the oldest son of 3 in Chase City, VA.
He met Diana Virginia Carr on a hot summer day in the early 60’s. Though it wasn’t love at first sight, Clyde won Diana over with his unyielding love and support as they developed a close knit
friendship. From friends to the love of each other's lives, Clyde and Diana were wed on September 8th, 1969. Together they created a loving home that provided for four children, grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.
He is survived by his children Kim M. Butler-Fleming (George Fleming), Clyde D. Butler II, and Kiara Diana M. Butler, and Daniel K. Carroll, grandchildren, Ian “Rocky” Butler (Jennifer Perez-Butler) Ibn J. Butler, great grandchild, Averie E. Butler, his brother, Donald Butler, and a village of nieces, nephews, and friends that love and will miss him deeply.
Clyde will receive his Heavenly welcoming from his wife, Diana V. Butler, daughter Karen M. Butler, his aunt, Helen L. Butler, his parents, Mabel Holloway- Butler & Ernest Butler, and his
brother Alvin Butler.
As a man of service, Clyde made his legacy his family. He passed down his love, his honor and his duty to family all that he raised.
May he live on through us.
