Charles D Newberry was born on March 26th 1956 to Charles F Newberry and Marie Newberry (nee Holston). He was educated through the Montclair New Jersey school system and graduated from Montclair High School in 1973. He graduated from Edward Williams College of Liberal Arts of Fairleigh Dickinson University two years later. He then attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois when he Majored in Tele-Communications.
Upon finishing his education, he worked for various employers starting out at PSE&G in Newark, NJ as a Meter Reader. Subsequently he was employed by Xerox and Kodak in upstate New York and then by MFX/Fairfax Information Technology, Crum and Forster & Ernst & Young in the New York City area. Finally, he worked at Mercedes Benz, Inc in northern New Jersey before retiring due to disability at age 52.
He was an avid sports fan. His mother was born in Detroit, Michigan and for this reason he was especially fond of teams from Detroit and the University of Michigan. He could always be found wearing gear donning a Detroit “D” or a Michigan “M”. He continued to remain as active as possible for his remaining years of life and watching sports was a big part of that.
Charles was never married but he was an animal lover and enjoyed the final twelve of his life with Rocky, his pet Doberman mixed dog. Charles is survived by his mother, Marie Newberry, one brother, James Newberry, sister-in-law Margaret, niece Jasmine Newberry, Aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.
