Celia Marie (Miller) Arseneault

Today, we gather in the presence of God to honor and celebrate the life of Celia—a woman whose journey was marked by purpose, perseverance, and faith. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the assurance that God’s promises are true, and that those who walk faithfully are welcomed into eternal rest.
Celia was born on December 30, 1972, in Kingston, Jamaica. From her earliest years, it was clear that she was gifted. She was intelligent, curious, and full of promise. Even in childhood, here was a brightness about her that reflected a future filled with meaning and divine purpose.

In 1979, Celia arrived in the United States, carrying with her dreams, resilience, and strong values. She embraced opportunity with determination and grace, trusting that God would guide her steps. Her dedication to education led her to Rutgers University, where she majored in chemistry. Through discipline and perseverance, she became a chemist, using her God-given intellect in a field that demanded precision, responsibility, and integrity.

While working at BP Oil, Celia met her husband, Gaston, who was also involved in the oil industry in Canada. Their meeting was not by chance, but part of God’s greater plan. Together, they built a life rooted in love, partnership, and shared purpose. God blessed their union with three cherished children—Jordan, Stefon, and Eden—who became the center of her heart and her greatest ministry.
As a mother, Celia devoted herself fully to her children. She homeschooled them until they were old enough to begin school, laying a strong foundation of learning, discipline, and faith. During this season, she joined the staff at Montessori Children’s Academy in Short Hills, New Jersey, where she worked with excellence and compassion. She poured into the lives of many children and families until her health required her to step away, meeting that challenge with grace and trust in God.

Celia’s life was one of continual growth and service. She was also an investor, owning and managing properties with wisdom and vision. A little later, she took on a management role at Society Hill, overseeing properties there while continuing to develop and contribute to her own real estate projects. In every role, she demonstrated integrity, diligence, and a heart for building stability and opportunity for others.

Celia believed deeply in giving back. She contributed meaningfully to every community she was part of—through education, leadership, service, and generosity. Her life reflected the truth of Scripture: “Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

Though we grieve her passing, we do not grieve without hope. We trust that Celia has completed her earthly journey and has entered into eternal peace. “Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of thy Lord.”

Her legacy lives on—in her children, her family, and the communities she strengthened. We thank God for her life, we honor her memory, and we carry forward the example of faith,
excellence, and love that she leaves behind.
