Carl Linton Kerr

Carl Kerr, born on April 24, 1964, in Nottingham, England, was the oldest of two children born to Marvia Elliott and Dudley Kerr. Carl was called home on March 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to his family.

Carl was raised in Nottingham, where he built a life rooted in discipline, determination, and resilience. In his younger years, he had a passion for cars and spent time working on and fixing them alongside his father—developing skills that would stay with him throughout his life. From a young age, he was known for his strong work ethic, purchasing his first home at just 22 years old. He worked across industries, from healthcare to manufacturing and later into the lighting business, where he managed operations and even designed and created his own pieces. Whether working professionally or helping others, Carl took pride in doing things the right way and seeing them through.

Carl shared a remarkable love story with his wife, Audrey, whom he met through family connections in Nottingham. What began as a chance meeting grew into a lifelong partnership spanning more than 40 years, including 38 years together. Carl and Audrey were married in 1999, building a life grounded in loyalty, partnership, and unwavering support. In the mid-1990s, Carl made the life-changing decision to move to the United States, where he continued to build both his career and his family—first settling in Orange, New Jersey. In 2001, Carl and Audrey purchased their home in West Orange, New Jersey, where they created a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. Carl was a phenomenal family man. He was a proud and devoted father who rarely missed a moment—whether it was soccer games, track and swimming meets, or everyday milestones. In 2001, he welcomed his daughter, Carly, and in 2005, his son, Elliot. He believed in being present, in encouraging activity, discipline, and growth, and in creating lasting memories with his children. Some of those memories were built in the simplest ways—like the many trips to the movies with Carly and Elliot, a tradition he started when they were young and continued over the years.

Outside of work and family, Carl had a passion for fitness and sports. He was an avid weight trainer and athlete, playing soccer and rugby at a high level and even competing in bodybuilding, where he earned recognition for his natural strength and discipline. He also loved traveling—exploring Europe, the Caribbean, and beyond with his family—creating memories filled with laughter, adventure, and sometimes unforgettable (and humorous) mishaps along the way.

At home, Carl was always building, fixing, or improving something. Whether it was renovating a house, helping a friend, or working on projects in his space, he found joy in creating and providing. He also loved to grill and entertain—often preparing his signature jerk chicken for family and friends, bringing people together through food, laughter, and good company. He was the person everyone called when something needed to be done—and he never hesitated to help. Carl also had a playful side. He loved sci-fi and fantasy—Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and more recently Game of Thrones—often sharing those moments with his children. He enjoyed a good laugh, a cigar, a glass of whiskey, and time spent with those closest to him. His humor, often delivered with a straight face, kept those around him smiling.

He will be remembered for his strength, his loyalty, and his unwavering commitment to the people he loved. He believed in hard work, self- discipline, and putting family first—and he lived those values every day.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Dudley Kerr.

Carl leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Audrey Kerr; his daughter, Carly Kerr; his son, Elliot Kerr; his brother, Shaque Kerr and sister- in-law, Norma Kerr; his mother, Marvia Elliott; his mother-in-law, Hyacinth; and a host of extended family and dear friends who will miss him deeply. His impact on their lives is lasting and profound.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the love he gave, and the memories that will continue to bring comfort and pride.
He will forever be remembered, deeply loved, and never forgotten.
