Bernice Davis was born on December 29, 1944 in Charlotte County, VA to parents Carl and Lena. She was raised in Brookneal VA and graduated from High School in 1963.

After graduating high school, she moved to New Jersey, received her nursing certification, and started her nursing career at St Vincent Hospital where she met Jimmie Davis. They married and purchased a home in Montclair NJ where together they raised their four children until Jimmie’s death. They were married for 29 years.

While a full-time wife and mother, Bernice also had a full-time career. She continued her nursing career at St Joseph Medical Center for 38 years, she retired from her nursing career as a Patient Care Assistant

Bernice was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church for over 30 years where she was the Chairwoman of the Christian Tracks and managed the hospitality committee.

She enjoyed family, church, fellowship with friends, healthy eating/living, and travelling. She was very creative. She led the fitness session at a senior center.

Her pride and joy were her four children, grandchildren, and great grand- daughters. For her grands, she helped to raise them, teach them, and most of all nurture them. She loved to share stories of her children and grands lives - their successes and achievements.
