Alonza “AL” Mitchell was born on March 11, 1964 in East Orange, New Jersey to the late Mildred and Eddie Mitchell.
He attended the Orange school system and graduated from Orange High School in 1982. While there he enjoyed his close friends, which he was still in contact with after 40 years.
Following graduation from high school, he was employed at Annin Flag Company in Bloomfield, NJ as a factory worker, producing various American flag and Boy Scout items.
Al was an avid sports fan following football and boxing. This became his hobby and he built a VHS library of every major boxing match and football game, often sharing with family and friends. He also enjoyed the family sport of drag racing, and attended races whenever he could.
After graduation, he began not feeling very well, was hospitalized and diagnosed with LUPUS. This lead to long periods of hospitalizations, during which, he continued to work when possible.
Following various complications stemming from LUPUS over the years, Al departed this earth and entered eternal peace, leaving to mourn: His brothers, Bryan and William Mitchell, two sister-in-laws Brenda and Lisa; nieces and nephews, Skylar and William Mitchell, DaShawn Latini, Dawan and Dominque Littlejohn; Great nieces and nephews; Anilya, Londyn and Zion and host of family and friends.
