Alice Choice

Alice Mae Choice, the daughter of the late Mae Alice and Lewis “Luke” Choice, was born on September 16, 1941, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey.  She peacefully entered eternal rest on January 22, 2023 at the Montclair Care Center, Montclair, New Jersey.   

Alice attended Montclair, New Jersey schools and graduated from Montclair High School in 1959.   She was employed by RCA and left there to work for General Motors for 30 years until her retirement.  While working, Alice raised her loving son, Kyle D. Choice.  She was very proud to see him graduate college.  Kyle had a son and named him Kyle D. Choice II (“KJ”) and Alice adored him tremendously.  Alice raised him until he became a young man and moved to Georgia. 

From a youthful age, Alice enjoyed being with her friends and sang in a Doo Wop Group.   Because her parents were God-fearing, she became a committed member of St. Paul Baptist Church, in Montclair, and sang in the Junior Choir.  She continued to serve the Lord and as she grew older, she became a member of the St. Paul Adult Choir. 

Alice’s hobbies ranged from being an avid collector of Gospel, R&B, Jazz and Classical music CD’s to collecting popular movies on 8 track, VCR and DVD formats.  In addition, Alice was a photographer.   She loved to share her collection of music and movies with her friends. She also collected different Bibles and gave them away to friends as gifts.  Alice was selfless in giving from her heart.  She made sure that anyone in need would receive help. 

Alice had a quiet and sweet spirit.  She spent the last year and half at the Montclair Care Center.   The nurses and administrative staff enjoyed her personality and gave her special care.   Alice would always thank the staff for whatever they did to make her comfortable.  

Alice was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mae and Lewis Choice and son, Kyle D. Choice. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving grandson, Kyle D. Choice, II; a granddaughter, Raven Williams; two great-grandchildren, Kyle D. Choice, III and Kyler J. Choice.  She also leaves a special  friend, Jeanette McPherson, who was her faithful caretaker, as well as relatives and friends.
